The Passenger Record displays several fields of information extracted from the historical ship passenger manifest, which could include passenger name, date of arrival, ship of travel, age on arrival, and more. Passenger Records are professionally printed on scroll certificate paper, size 8.5″ x 11″.

The ship companies that transported these passengers kept detailed passenger lists, called “Ship Manifests” which were used to examine immigrants upon arrival in the United States. Ship Manifests are available for nearly 65 million immigrants, passengers, and crew members who came through Ellis Island and the Port of New York from 1820 to 1957. We are continuously working to document additional years, so that they can be made available for you to search.

Ship Manifests will vary between 1-page documents and 2-page documents, depending on the year of arrival. Scanned from the microfilmed images of the actual historic documents, the manifests are printed on acid-free, archival, 11″ x 17″ paper. The manifest image measures approximately 9″ x 14″, although each manifest could vary in size.
